3.1 How does AI work?

GenAI is commonly touted as a ‘black box’, with limited ability to look inside and explore how and why it makes the decisions it does.

While this is true in many senses, we do know quite a bit about how genAI are trained and developed.

We know that genAI must incorporate data loss in its process (Chiang 2023)
